Assistant manager Greg Abbott has every confidence that Notts County are capable of producing a season-defining run.
Notts’ recent performances have provided plenty of reasons to be optimistic heading into a difficult fixture with Sky Bet League 1's form side Brentford at Meadow Lane this Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The midweek draw with Bradford City has highlighted the difference that a result can make to the mood in the camp.
Abbott has seen enough since his arrival at the club alongside boss Shaun Derry to suggest that County can put together a string of positive results, which can lift them out of the bottom four.
He told the press: “I think the players have been a little bit hurt and dented by what’s happened but they’re coming round.
“It’s amazing how training has been, the attitude and the mindset has been much brighter and the belief has been a little bit bigger.
“If we can win on Saturday it will be even bigger still and I think this squad’s good enough to go on a little bit of a run.
“We need a 10-match run somewhere between now and the end of the season – that’s not just winning games it’s winning and drawing.
“I think the group’s capable of that and the longer you get into it the easier it becomes.
“It’s getting that first point and first win to get up and running, but the players have been lifted and hopefully we can take that into Saturday.”
