Striker Enoch Showunmi made his return for the first team since mid-August last weekend and he's hoping to get more game-time against Oldham on Tuesday...
The 6'5 forward has been sidelined with a thigh and back problem, but played 15-minutes against Stoke City's Development Squad last month and played the final half-hour against Hartlepool on Saturday.
Showunmi told the media ahead of the JPT fixture that he was delighted to be involved despite not being 100%.
He said: "I've been injured for a few months now and I've had a lot of rehab, but I'm just looking to get more minutes under my belt and more games now. The Gaffer threw me straight in, straight away and it's a big confidence booster for me.
"I'm not fully fit, but he's still thrown me in the deep end and hopefully I can repay that faith in the future. I was a bit stiff on Sunday, but I'm just preparing to be involved again."
The former Leeds man is confident that with the players in the dressing room that the team can push up the table if they have the same belief as the new management team.
He added: "The new gaffer and Greg Abbott have come in and seen what the dressing is like and he's got a feel for it over a couple of days. The boys have put in a lot of work.
"Obviously every player is looking to impress. The younger boys think they now have a chance. You can see the potential in this dressing room and hopefully we can play for him and play well.
"We've all got to have belief. Believe in ourselves, belief in what the manager wants from us and in the squad. Talent wise I don't think you will find much more in this league.
"He will have his own ideas, so he's going to find his best 11 and hopefully we will all be pushing for that. Hopefully we can push on and show how good this squad can be."
