Liddle Sweeps Up At Awards Night

Gary Liddle claimed an impressive four accolades at the club’s End of Season Awards ceremony on Tuesday night.

The consistent defender picked up the Manager’s Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, Fans’ Player of the Year and the Supporters’ Club Player of the Year awards. 

Liddle was also presented with an additional award by the Supporters’ Club after he became the first player since Pedro Richards 30 years ago to play every minute of league action. 

Striker Yoann Arquin picked up the final two first team prizes for the Golden Boot and Goal of the Season for his sensational volley in the FA Cup against Rotherham United. 

In the Academy, defender Brad McGowan was named Youth Team Manager’s Player of the Year, midfielder Kyle Dixon was voted Youth Team Player’s Player of the Year and striker Malachi Lavelle-Moore picked up the Youth Team Golden Boot. 

The two final awards saw Jake Wholey receive the Community Award for his committed work outside of football and Pete Lawson from the club shop was deservedly selected for the Supporters’ Club Merit Award for his long-term commitment to the Magpies.

In addition to the awards handed out, strike duo Romello Nangle and Tyrell Waite were presented with matchballs after scoring their first career goals during the campaign.
