Kiwomya: Take Your Chance

8 May 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya has told the squad’s young players that it is up to them to force their way into the side in the new season..

Kiwomya will not just give the players a chance, they will have to earn it through hard work in training.

Four up-and-coming prospects – Haydn Hollis, Greg Tempest, Curtis Thompson and Tyrell Waite - were offered new deals last week, with a further three youth team players – Kyle Dixon, Romello Nangle and Malachi Lavelle-Moore – given the chance to prove themselves at senior level after the summer.

Kiwomya hopes that all seven of them will play their part in 2012.13.

“The younger players offered deals will be important if they take the opportunity they have been given,” he said.

“Just because they have been offered contracts, doesn’t mean they will be straight into the first team.

“Pre-season will be massive for them, if they are good enough and will to work hard, they will fight amongst the more senior players in the side.

“I will be looking for them to make an impact and fulfil their potential.

“It’s just a start for them and they will need to prove themselves again.

“Most of the boys have the right attitude and they can’t wait to comeback in pre-season and go toe-to-toe with the rest of the squad.”
