Young midfielder Greg Tempest has been called up to a Northern Ireland Under 21 training camp next week.
An 18-man squad will then be selected for the forthcoming UEFA Under 21 Qualifying match against Cyprus, which will be played on Thursday 30 May 2012 in Cyprus.
Tempest, who was born in Nottingham, qualifies thanks to his Grandad Bill Corkhill who was born in Belfast. Corkhill also played for the Magpies and made 284 appearances for Notts either side of the Second World War.
The 19-year-old graduated through the Notts County Academy and signed his first professional contract last summer.
Since then he has made one start away at Swindon Town, whilst also coming off the bench against Scunthorpe United and Bournemouth.
He has also been offered a new deal by Manager Chris Kiwomya.
Everyone at Meadow Lane would like to wish him all the best and hope that it’s the first of many international call-ups for the talented midfielder.
