First team manager Chris Kiwomya was pleased with the way that the Magpies responded following the midweek loss to Preston North End.
On Saturday, Notts overcame Scunthorpe United at Meadow Lane, courtesy of Dean Leacock's second half header.
County produced a much improved display, after a disappointing 90 minutes on Tuesday night.
Kiwomya felt that his side deserved the three points and was especially happy with the clean sheet.
"Overall, they had some clear-cut chances but we were the better team," he told the press.
"It was one of those games where whoever got the first goal was going to go on and win it.
"I like my clean sheets more than when we score goals and I'd rather have a 1-0 than a 4-2.
"It was important that we bounced back from midweek, which was disappointing, and I think we did that.
"We're still not the finished article, there's still a lot of work to do but three points is three points.
"We still don't want to talk about the Play-Offs, we just want to talk about the next match, which will be a big one for us."
