Right-back Julian Kelly is eager to show that he is worthy of an extended stay with the club.

Kelly's contract expires in the summer and, with a child on the way, he would love to remain in Nottingham.

Kelly has had a stop-start season due to hamstring and calf issues but wants to demonstrate why he should have a future at Meadow Lane in the remaining five matches.

“My missus is from Notts and we’re expecting a baby in three weeks,” he told the club's official matchbook, #themag.

“It would be very nice to stay here and, with my girlfriend coming from here, I feel associated with the city.

“Notts have been good to me, the fans have been good to me and I like the club a lot.

"It’s a good club with big ambitions and it’s going to be massive when it gets to the next level.

“We just need that one season and I would love to be a part of that.

"I’m happy to stay here as long as they want but it’s in their hands so we’ll wait and see.

“You could say it has been quite nervy about my future but until the last game’s finished, I won’t really think about it until then.

"All I want to do at the moment is play.”
