CK: Only The Points Matter Now

6 March 2013

Chris Kiwomya does not mind if the Magpies produce a Barcelona-like performance or a scrappy display similar to that against Carlisle United - as long as his side comes away with three points.

Notts can move five points off the Play-Off places tonight (Wednesday), should they triumph over Leyton Orient, who are also in the chase for the top six.

With just 11 matches remaining, Notts remain in contention for the end-of-campaign knockout and the O's clash (7.45pm at Meadow Lane) is certainly the biggest game of the season so far.

County are currently undefeated in the last five and have won back-to-back home games.

The first team manager has made clear that his side needs build on that momentum, otherwise any chance of reaching the Play-Offs will slip away.

"I'm very pleased that we've managed to get a little run going, we've just got to try continue that," he told the press.

"It's mightily important to stay in the picture and if we can be just not far off with three or four games to go, this kind of run that we're on now will get us in there.

"That's what I'm trying to emphasise to the players to make sure that we keep picking up the points.

"Sometimes, like on Saturday, it won't be the best game but I was pleased with our battling features and you need every player in the team to play their part in that.

"Towards the end of the season, it's not so much how you're playing, it's getting the results.

"We're on a bit of a good run and I look at some of the games and we should have won more.

"We're just looking at Leyton Orient and we've got to try to get something from this game."

He added: "They're in the same scenario as us, they're looking at the Play-Offs and they come here on the back of a good victory trying to close the deficit as well.

“They've got the incentives there so it's got all the makings of a good game.”
