CK: Focus Remains On The Performance

22 March 2013

Notts County are not going to get drawn in to talking about the top six again just yet, says first team manager Chris Kiwomya.

Last weekend’s 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United saw the Magpies close the gap on the Play-Off places to only six points.

Saturday’s clash with high-flying Swindon Town gives Notts another chance to move closer to the promotion pack.

Kiwomya’s only focus is on getting a consistent run together, as his side, first of all, aims to make it back-to-back league victories for the first time since September.

“Nothing’s been rekindled and we’re just focusing on getting a good team performance,” he told the press.

“We’re still six points off so it’s out of our hands really, but all we can do is keep trying to play well and stay close to them.

“If we’re there or thereabouts going into the last three games, then I’d say we’ve got a good chance.

“But, there’s teams below us with games in hand so we’ve got to get that performance and consistency as well.

“We’re trying to get that blend where we play well and win the game.

“Every game we want to win and, when we do, every one is a much needed win and hopefully we can do that at Swindon.”

He continued: “It will be a very, very tough game but hopefully we can go there and give a good account of ourselves.

“They’ve got a good forward line and that’s their strength, no doubt about it, so we’ll have to be on our guard.”
