Can You Go A Day Without Smoking?

13 March 2013

Today (Wednesday) is No Smoking Day, a day many smokers would be happy to forget about. However if you are a smoker looking to quit, help is at hand.

nosmokingday.org.uk have set this year’s theme as 'Swap Fags for Swag', which is all about what smokers will gain when they quit.

As well as improved health, they'll have extra cash to spend on whatever they like! Maybe aticket to watch County play or the chance to put some money away for next season’s shirt?

From 24 April you’ll be able to stop smoking with County. The Put it Out programme will provide smokers with a mix of stop-smoking workshops, delivered by New Leaf, with physical activity sessions to help kick the habit and stay smoke-free for good.

Notts County Football in the Community believe the key to a healthy lifestyle is exercise and that it will play a key role in helping the Put it Out participants stave off their cravings.

No matter how much or how little you smoke, your age or fitness level, this programme is designed for you to reach your stop smoking goals. Quit at your own rate and stay smoke free.

For more information about how to sign up to Put it Out contact lead health officer Gemma Backhouse on 0115 9557 215.
