Over £1,200 was raised for Cancer Research UK by a group of Notts supporters and staff that took part in yesterday’s Race For Life.
The team met at Meadow Lane on Sunday and took part in the Nottingham Race For Life at the Trent Embankment, joining thousands of others to raise funds to beat cancer.
Organiser and Kopite season ticket holder Lisa Black told the Official Site: “I’m very proud of the Notts Pink Ladies to raise so much. We were all doing the race for dedicated people and we are delighted with the support we had.
“As we ran the course, every now and again you heard ‘You Pies’ and as we crossed the finish line we were greeted with rapturous applause. Well done to Lindy Street and Lynn Lawson who were on a mission to cross the finish line before the rest of us, doing so in a 35-minutes, leaving us other pinkies to finish just behind!
“I’d like to thank you everyone who has supported us through sponsorship and for those who came down to cheer us on.”
You can still sponsor the group by visiting their Just Giving Page.
Other Notts fans also took part in the event, not just in Nottingham, and everyone at Meadow Lane would like to congratulate all our supporters for taking part and raising such large amounts for a great cause.
