Chairman & Manager Back Armed Forces Day

29 June 2013

In celebration of Nottingham hosting the National Armed Forces Day on 29 June, two of the club’s key figures have shown their support.

Chairman Ray Trew and first team manager Chris Kiwomya (pictured) have spread the message by wearing the ‘Show Your Colours’ ribbon to back the national event, along with other well-known figures across the city

“I am delighted to be supporting the ‘Show Your Colours’ campaign and giving mine, and Notts County’s, backing to Armed Forces Day here in Nottingham,” said Mr Trew.

“It is so easy to forget the hard work that our armed forces are putting in every day, both at home and in hostile conditions overseas, so it is important that we acknowledge this work and show our appreciation by backing this campaign.”

Armed Forces Day is held annually on the last Saturday of June, providing the nation with a dedicated day when people can come together to show their appreciation and support of the Armed Forces.

The first National Armed Forces Day was held on 27 June 2009, when the Historic Dockyard Chatham was selected to host the main event, which was complemented by hundreds of smaller events in towns and cities across the UK.
