Sheehan Agrees New Deal

2 July 2013

Left-back Alan Sheehan has agreed a new deal with Notts County Football Club that will keep him at Meadow Lane for the 2013.14 campaign.

Sheehan’s initial two-year contract with the club expired at the end of June and he has been eager to agree an extension during the summer months.

Since returning for pre-season training the 26-year-old has impressed greatly, not only looking sharp with the ball at his feet but as one of the front-runners in the fitness drills.

First team manager Chris Kiwomya made no secret about his wishes to hold on to the reliable full-back, who has pulled on the black and white stripes 82 times since joining from Swindon Town in 2011.

Sheehan was pleased to sort out his future and is looking forward to making forward strides in 2013.14.

He told the official site: “I’m delighted to be here and we’ve got an exciting year coming up, where hopefully we can kick on from last season.

“I wanted to be here and I’m looking forward to working for Chris, he’s got some big ideas and it’s hopefully going to be a good place to be.

“He wants to sign a good few players and we’ve got a good base here to be pushing high up the table.”

Sheehan is in the squad for Tuesday afternoon’s behind closed doors friendly with Steaua Bucharest.
