Defender Gary Liddle feels that the trip to Finland will be great for team bonding.
Notts depart for Finland today (Wednesday 3 July) and will face three pre-season fixtures against Palloseura Kemi Kings, Tervarit Dream Team and Finnish top-flight and 2012.13 Europa League side JJK before returning to Nottingham late next week.
Liddle joined the Magpies last summer and travelled to Marbella as part of the preparations for the 2012.13 campaign.
The former Hartlepool United man felt that the trip helped the players to gel both on and off the pitch, something that he expects to see the benefits from again this time around.
He told Magpie Player: “It’s classed as a team bonding trip I guess, it’s for fitness but it’s a good chance for the lads, as nasty as it sounds, to get away from the family and spend 24 hours a day in the company of each other.
“By the end of the week, I’ll admit, you’re ready to get away from the lads for a weekend but it’s a good time and you do get to know them a lot better.
“It was important for me coming in as a new face last season to get to know the lads.
“That helped me a lot not knowing anybody so it’s going to be massively important for us as a squad.”
Look out for coverage of the tour exclusively on Magpie Player, which is available from only 10p a day.
