Summer signing Danny Haynes is set to pull on the black and white stripes for the first time this evening when the Magpies take on Rayo Vallecano at Meadow Lane (7.30pm kick-off).
Notts fought off stiff competition from Championship clubs to land the fleet-footed frontman, who was not ready in time for last week’s encounter with Galatasaray due to being a late addition to the squad.
Having worked hard on the training pitch since signing on the dotted line earlier this month, Kiwomya has suggested that the former Charlton Athletic man will be involved for the second of three home friendlies.
The manager told Magpie Player: “I think that Danny will play some part against Rayo Vallecano.
“It’s just making sure that we don’t overload him too quickly, but he’s fitting into the programme and he’s training.”
Kiwomya believes that tonight’s encounter with Vallecano has the potential to be tougher than the clash with Turkish champions Galatasaray.
He continued: “They’re a Spanish team and they’ll like to keep the ball, like Barcelona and the national team it’s the Spanish way.
“If we can put on any kind of performance like we did against Galatasaray I think we’ll do well against them.
“It will be a difficult game and we’ll have to play well if we’re to get something from the game.”
