Youth Team Ready For Doncaster Challenge

11 January 2013

Notts County youth team are aiming to pick up where they left off in 2012 in their first test of the New Year.

North East Youth Alliance high-flyers Doncaster Rovers are in town for an 11am meeting at the Magpies’ Highfields training facility.

The youth team have been working hard over the Christmas break and are fully prepared, as they look to make it six wins on the spin.

“We’re very pleased with the lads, we did their body fats when they came back and some of them actually lost weight over the Christmas period,” youth team coach Brett Adams told Magpie Player.

“During the holidays, the local lads were coming in every other day and we were doing fitness tests with them.

“Fitness is fine but it’s all about that match practice now.”

He continued: “It’s massively important to our season to continue the form that we had before Christmas.

“However, you never know what you’re going to get just after the break so fingers crossed it will be where we left off.

“We also know that it might take us a couple of games to find our feet again.

“We would really like to hit the ground running, the lads are preparing right, so fingers crossed we can start the year positively.”
