Notts County can confirm that a pitch inspection has been organised for 1pm on Friday 18 January ahead of Saturday’s npower League 1 match against Sheffield United here at Meadow Lane.
With freezing temperatures gripping the area, the Notts County groundstaff have had the frost covers on the pitch since late last week, doubling up in many areas, in a bid to beat the frost.
However, whilst much of the pitch remains soft and has stood up well to the conditions, there are areas of concern that have prompted the club to call for an official pitch inspection, in agreement with the Football League.
Local referee Nigel Smith will conduct the inspection, which will take place at 1pm on Friday and we will bring you an update as soon as the official has completed his review of the playing surface.
