Notts County Backing The Armed Forces

1 January 2013

Find out more about SSAFA and the Territorial Army...

Saturday 2 March is a special day for us all here at Notts County. We’re inviting in the Armed Forces along to our npower League 1 game against Carlisle United to show our support for current and ex serving soldiers.

We’ll have representatives from the military charity SSAFA Forces Help, as well as a load of Army kit and equipment for you to have a look at. The Territorial Army is currently looking for new recruits and will be opposite Meadow Lane in the Boat Yard, so come down early with your family and friends and find out how to make your spare time pay.

Who are SSAFA?

We are the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help. We are the national charity for those who serve in our Armed Forces, those who used to serve, and their families. Our commitment is to provide a lifetime of support to anyone who has ever served.

Each year, our trained staff and network of 7,500 volunteers provide practical support and assistance to more than 50,000 people, from D-Day veterans to young soldiers wounded in Afghanistan. Come and meet us on the Saturday 2 March to find out more about what we do.
