Notts County youth team put in their best performance of the season to defeat Scunthorpe United 6-1 on Saturday.
The young Magpies got off to a tremendous start, when Malachi Lavelle-Moore fired home from the penalty spot after just three minutes.
Mitchell Clarke made it 2-0, before Lavelle-Moore added another from a well rehearsed free-kick.
The frontman was replaced by James Randall, who made an immediate impact by scoring at close range with his first touch.
Kieran Geldenhuys added the fifth from a pre-planned corner and Kyle Dixon rounded of Notts’ scoring with a superb individual effort.
Youth team coach Brett Adams was delighted with the display against one of the division’s strongest outfits.
He told the official site: “I was proud as a coach to see everything that we’d worked on in training come together.
“In terms of free-flowing football, it was our best performance of the season.
“We created a lot of chances and could have scored more.
“We were disappointed to concede but we’ll take that result any day of the week.
“The best thing is that it was all out attacking, with quick counter attacking – it was pleasing on the eye.
“We fully deserved the win, the lads were different class.”
