John Cofie has been named in the npower League 1 Team of the Week for his impressive performance against Crewe Alexandra.
Just 24 hours after signing on a youth loan from Manchester United, the striker netted a stunning equalising goal in the 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane.
The Ghanaian fully deserved his goal, having put in a hard-working shift during his 89 minutes on the pitch.
“I thought he was excellent and worked tirelessly hard in the first half,” said caretaker boss Chris Kiwomya.
“He’s only a young lad and sometimes, when you work hard, you get your dues.
“I think he got that, he took his goal very well and I’m excited for him, because he’ll have a bright future in the game.”
