Blyth Up For The Challenge

15 February 2013

New loan signing Jacob Blyth is out to show that he can cut it in npower League 1 during his Meadow Lane stay.

Blyth, 20, agreed a one-month youth loan from Leicester City on Wednesday afternoon and is available for selection ahead of this weekend’s clash with Walsall.

The frontman has been monitored closely by Magpies’ chief scout Matt Alexander and will add strong competition to the team’s frontline.

The Foxes’ target man recently spent time on loan with npower League 2 outfit Burton Albion, only for an injury to cut short his time at the Pirelli Stadium.

Now fully fit again, Blyth hopes to score the goals to get Notts back into the Play-Off places.

He told Magpie Player: “I’m over the moon to be here, it’s a great loan move for me, a great experience, and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.

“I’ve been doing well at Leicester, in and around the first team, so I’m coming into Notts County confident.

“I’ve scored about nine goals in about 15 or 16 games in the development squad and we’re top of the league, so I’ve done really well there.

“I’m now looking to prove that I can play League 1 and I just want to score as many goals as I can.

“I’m buzzing for it and can’t wait and hopefully I can help Notts County to a promotion push.”
