Midfielder Andre Boucaud has placed another three points at the top of his Christmas list ahead of Notts County’s festive encounter with Bristol City.
Boucaud has been an integral part of the Magpies’ upturn in fortunes, which has seen the team take maximum points from the last two games against Gillingham and Colchester United.
The Magpies remain in the relegation zone but have another chance to make up ground on the pack outside the bottom four in another six-pointer against the Robins, who are currently just below Notts in the Sky Bet League 1 table.
Boucaud explained that the squad's confidence levels are up but the job is far from over.
“You can see that the guys are buzzing but we’re still towards the bottom,” said Boucaud.
“Us, as players, believe that we’re better than the position that we’re in but the fact is that we are in the position we’re in.
“We’ve got to dig deep, continue working hard and keep pulling out performances like we did on Saturday if we are to get out of the situation that we’re in.
“We’ve got another huge game coming up against Bristol City as they’re down there with us fighting but if we play like we did on Saturday I don’t think we’ll have any problems.
“As you could see we enjoyed it on Saturday as individuals and as a team and if you enjoy your football you can be successful.
“Anyone that came to watch the game saw that we worked hard and played good football.
“Hopefully we can get another good result and make Christmas a lot better.”
