Strides In Attitude & Application

15 December 2013

First team manager Shaun Derry was delighted after Notts County made it back-to-back wins for the first time this term with a 4-0 triumph over Colchester United.

Goals from Jack Grealish, Morgan Fox, Callum McGregor and Gary Liddle secured another three points for the Magpies and another big festive fixture awaits against Bristol City back at Meadow Lane.

Notts have made up vital ground on the teams outside the bottom four in the last two games and Derry is desperate for his side to keep up that momentum as the games come thick and fast in the countdown to 2014.

He said: “It was a performance and a result that everybody connected with this football club deserves after the last four or five weeks.

“We’ve absolutely made strides both in attitude and application and a desire and a will to work.

“We took it out there and produced a fantastic performance and took our chances when it mattered.

“I didn’t see a 4-0 coming but I expected a positive result but we needed to back last week up as well.

“It’s all well and good winning but you can’t go back and rest on your laurels.

“Listen, I want to keep going and I’ve told them that we come in again on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and we work hard again to see where it takes us.”
