No Friendship At 3pm For Ex-Robin

20 December 2013

Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce will be putting friendship to one side on Saturday when Notts County face his former club Bristol City.

Campbell-Ryce spent two impressive years with the Robins prior to his arrival at Meadow Lane and remains good friends with a number of their players.

However, when the first whistle is blown at 3pm on Saturday, the 30-year-old will forget about his former teammates.

Full focus will be on another three points, following back-to-back wins over Gillingham and Colchester United.

When asked if he would celebrate a goal against his former club, he told Magpie Player: “I’d celebrate because we’re towards bottom of the league and need every win we can get.

“I’ve still got friends there but it’s all about us.

“They’re having a difficult time in there just like we are but there is no time for friends at 3pm.

“At the end of the day we all want three points and we’ve got a job to do.”

He added: “We’re in a difficult spot but we do think we can get out of it.

“I think it would show the kind of unity that’s here and everyone knows and believes that we can do it.”
