Right-back Kieron Freeman has been recalled by his parent club Derby County.
The need for cover in the Rams’ ranks have led to the in-form defender’s return to the iPro Stadium.
Freeman rejoined Notts County on loan last month and has impressed over eight appearances.
Notts will therefore be without the 21-year-old for the Boxing Day trip to Port Vale.
