Barrie Jones Funeral Details

6 December 2013

The funeral of former Notts County player Barrie Jones, who holds a unique place in the club’s history, will be held at Mansfield Crematorium on Wednesday 11 December.

Jones, who scored the quickest league goal in the club’s history, after just six seconds of the game against Torquay United in March 1962, passed away at the age of 75 late last month.

His funeral will be held at Mansfield Crematorium on Wednesday 11 December at 1:45pm.

The former striker made 50 appearances for Notts, between 1961 and 1963, scoring 17 goals, including that memorable strike against Torquay, which remains the joint second quickest league goal ever scored by any player.
