Notts County youth team concluded pre-season with a comprehensive win over Grantham.
Elliot Hodge (4), Tyler Guy, Jack Golding, Glodie Bange and Alex Kenlock all got on the scoresheet in an 8-0 victory.
The under-18s now head into their season opener with Burton Albion full of confidence.
Youth team coach Andy McMillan said: “We dominated and it was a very comfortable game.
“It could have been double figures and at times, maybe it was a little too easy.
“We all know the games won’t be as simple as that and it did help with the confidence and fitness.
“It will be a totally different game against Burton on Saturday.
“We will need to press them and take what we did in the second half against Peterborough and then create similar chances as we did against Grantham.”
The result came just days after a disappointing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Peterborough United youth team.
“The lads never really got going and didn’t earn the right to play and compete,” added McMillan.
“Posh kept the ball very well and played an interesting system where they got the full-backs bombing on and they caused us problems.
“We were all bitterly disappointed with the performance and it’s got to get a lot better and the lads know that.”
