First team manager Chris Kiwomya is excited by the partnership that winger David Bell and frontman Yoann Arquin can forge.
Bell made his first Notts County appearance off the bench in the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Walsall and changed the game with a tricky performance on the left wing.
Arquin was also introduced as a second half substitute at the Banks's Stadium and netted an equalising goal with a thumping header from an Alan Sheehan delivery.
Kiwomya feels that the pairing of Bell’s pinpoint crossing ability and Arquin’s aerial prowess can provide a mix that strikes fear into opposition defences.
“Bell’s a good player and can be a massive addition for us but he’s still trying to find form and fitness,” said Kiwomya.
“You could see when he came on against Walsall the quality that he brought to us.
“He gave us width and their full-back didn’t know whether to get tight or drop off.
“Belly can go inside and outside and when you’ve got guys like Yoann Arquin with a good leap you’ve got a bit of a combination.
“Yoann needs to find that consistency to his game and that’s what makes a player.
“I keep telling him about consistency, not 25 minutes or 70 minutes – 90 minutes, or being a seven or eight out of 10 every week.”
The duo are pushing for starting berths in this weekend’s Meadow Lane encounter with Stevenage (3pm kick-off).
