Forward Ronan Murray hopes to rediscover his best form under the guidance of his former mentor.
Murray, who agreed a contract at Meadow Lane last week, worked closely with Magpies’ manager Chris Kiwomya as a youngster with Ipswich Town.
The Republic of Ireland youth international was a regular on the scoresheet in the Tractor Boys’ youth and development squads and he hopes to rekindle that form for Notts.
He told Magpie Player: “It’s great to play under the gaffer again, he’s a great coach and a great manager and hopefully good things are to come.
“I’ve had a history with him and we were close at Ipswich so hopefully we’ll have another winning combination, because we did well in the youth cup and in the reserves there.
“He’s basically taught me everything I know footballing-wise and it’s good to be working with him again.
“I played my best football under the gaffer here and hopefully he’ll bring me back to my best.
“It’s a new chapter for me and hopefully I can score the goals for Notts County.”
