The Youth Team are back in action against Peterborough United on Saturday morning, before their final friendly against Grantham on Monday to complete a hectic pre-season.

The players may not have had a game the past week, but they have been very busy in the gym ahead of the two fixtures.

Head of Academy Coaching Andy McMillan told the Official Site: "We've now got two good games, before it all kicks-off next week against Burton and we can't wait.

"It will be great for all the players to get 90-minutes under their belts and all the lads are raring to go and we've got all the players injury-free.

"With no game the past week, we've done a lot more shape and physical work. And on Thursday we worked with the defenders to make sure they know their roles and responsibilities.

"As we all know, if you can keep clean sheets, then you've got more chance of winning football games.

"The lads have been working incredibly hard at the training ground and in the gym and there's a great buzz around the place."

The team also had their first chance of wearing the new shirts, but won't be able to get near to them again until the first competitive game.

McMillan added: "The kids are so excited, because they want to wear the new kit for the team photo, but we are holding that back for Burton. We had our induction evening this week and we are all ready to go. We are all going to give it a good go this year for the club and for the fans."

Look out for confirmed details of the Monday 3pm kick-off Grantham match on the Official Site soon.
