Midfielder Callum McGregor wants to show that he can cut it at the top level when the Magpies take on Liverpool.
Notts travel to Anfield this evening for the Capital One Cup Round 2 fixture with the Premier League giants (7.45pm kick-off).
McGregor is currently on loan from Celtic and he is eager to show his parent club that his is capable of facing top-class players such as Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Phillipe Coutinho.
“I played against Real Madrid last year in America and you always want these wee tests as a player to see where you’re at and where you need to get to," he told Magpie Player.
"I want to show people that I can play on that big stage and handle the pressure.
“I’m looking forward to coming up against Steven Gerrard.
"I want to prove a point to myself and to other people.
“I don’t think we could have had a better draw and the boys are really looking forward to it.
"We’ve had a couple of weeks to digest it and look forward to it, but come Tuesday night, it’s about performing and giving a good account of ourselves.”
