Notts County have been forced to postpone our upcoming Sky Bet League 1 fixture away to Leyton Orient on Saturday 7 September because of a trio of international call-ups in the squad...
It was only confirmed earlier this week that Greg Tempest had been called into the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad, having previously been on the standby list, whilst Mustapha Dumbuya and Andre Boucaud have also been called up for international duty, for Sierra Leone and Trinidad & Tobago respectively.
We believe that this is the first time that Notts have had a league game postponed because of our own international call-ups and that is testament to the quality of players that have been assembled in the current squad.
Tempest has already made two appearances for the Northern Ireland Under-21 side, whilst Boucaud represented Trinidad & Tobago at the recent Gold Cup in the United States and Dumbuya has one international cap to his name for Sierra Leone.
With Russell Slade’s Leyton Orient riding high in the league after a strong start to the season, Notts manager Chris Kiwomya could ill afford to be without three of his first team squad for the trip to Brisbane Road.
A date for the rearranged fixture will be announced here on the club’s official website as soon as it has been confirmed between the two clubs.
