Bart Wants Stevenage Shutout

21 August 2013

Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski is determined to record his first clean sheet of the campaign this Saturday when the Magpies face Stevenage at Meadow Lane (3pm kick-off).

The Pole has set an ambitious target of 20 shutouts this term, following an impressive first year with the club that saw him record 14 clean sheets.

Suspensions and injuries have taken their toll so far this term but with the likes of Gary Liddle and Manny Smith now back from suspension, the Pole sees no reason why the team cannot start frustrating opposition strikers.

“For every goalkeeper, keeping a clean sheet is massive and I want to keep as many as I can,” he said.

“I want to improve my number from last season and I’m looking forward to keeping my first clean sheet of the season.

“I want 20, maybe, and if we manage to keep 11 players on the pitch in every game, that’s a realistic target for me.”

He continued: “It’s a long season and I’m confident that we can have a good season because I believe in this team.

“I believe in the coaching staff because every day they’re trying to improve us.

“I believe that we will be competitive and do really well.”
