Sheehan Clears Up Media Comments

3 April 2013

Defender Alan Sheehan has moved quickly to clear up comments in the press after the 2-1 defeat to Yeovil Town.

Sheehan was questioned about his future but did not wish to cover the subject so soon after a frustrating 90 minutes for the Magpies.

The reliable left-back is out of contract in the summer, following the completion of his two-year deal, and first team manager Chris Kiwomya is still to make a decision over which players are to remain at the club in the new season.

Sheehan told the official site: "As far as I'm concerned, I'm a Notts County player until I'm told otherwise.

"I've enjoyed my two years with the club and I don't deem it suitable to be commenting on a future away from Meadow Lane when I may have one here.

"I just want to get my head down and perform to the best of my ability in a Notts shirt between now and the end of the season.

"The Play-Offs may be out of our reach but we still have our pride at stake and I'm fully committed to giving 100 per cent, like I have done in nearly 80 competitive matches for the club.

"We want us to finish as high as possible and we hope that the fans will get behind us as we look to build some momentum for the new season."
