Pearce Playing For Meadow Lane Future

27 April 2013

Defender Krystian Pearce hopes to be given another chance to prove that he is worth keeping at Meadow Lane beyond the end of the season.

Pearce is out of contract this summer, following three years with the Magpies, and it appeared that his future would lie away from the club up until last weekend.

The 23-year-old was handed a chance to impress in his first Notts match since March 2012 and he impressed alongside Dean Leacock at the heart of the back four.

Pearce is desperate to be involved again for today’s encounter with Coventry City (3pm kick-off), which is the final fixture of the 2012.13 campaign.

He said: “It was a long time since I had been in the team and the Doncaster match was the first time that I had been in the squad this season.

“It was a bit of a surprise but I’ve been waiting for that chance and working hard in training.

“I’ve had to remain optimistic and hope that I’d get another chance and hopefully the gaffer’s seen enough to give me another go.

“I want to convince the manager that I’m good enough to stay, because I’ve been here three years now and I feel at home here.”
