Kiwomya Fronts Final #themag

25 April 2013

First team manager Chris Kiwomya is our feature interview in this weekend's edition of the #themag.

Saturday marks final game of the current campaign, when the Magpies will take on Coventry City at Meadow Lane (3pm kick-off).

Kiwomya looks ahead to the new season, including his search for a striker.

The gaffer also talks about some tough decisions that will have to be made next week, when he decides which of the 16 out of contract players fit into his plans for 2013.14.

“It will be difficult but that’s football and these are the kinds of decisions that I will have to make," he told the club's official matchbook.

"It’s not too different from when I have to pick a team, as I have to do what’s in the best interests of the club and the team itself.

“I want players that can take Notts County forward and we’ve got to be out there seeing if we can get those bargain buys and see if they will fit into our philosophy.

"Whatever the budget is, we’re going to be competitive and give it a go and it’s up to me to instil that belief into the squad that we put together.

“If you want to be competitive in this league, you’ve got to have that desire.

"Sometimes you might not win the game by passing but on heart and desire and that’s the way I’ll be looking forward."
