Joss Thrilled With 'Tap-In' Impact

22 April 2013

Midfielder Joss Labadie was delighted to grab the headlines in the weekend’s 1-0 win over high flying Doncaster Rovers.

Labadie found the top corner with a 30-yard screamer to spoil the hosts’ proposed promotion party at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The former Tranmere Rovers man was recently drafted back into the Magpies’ squad after an impressive loan spell with Torquay United that saw him net four times in seven appearances.

Having continued that goal-scoring form in the black and white stripes, the 22-year-old hopes that it is a sign of things to come on a personal note and for Notts as a team.

“I ran up and it was more of a tap-in than anything- nah, I was due one of those to be fair and it was nice to get the goal,” he told Magpie Player.

“It’s up there with my best, but I’m confident from free-kicks and I’ve come close in recent weeks for Torquay and Notts.

“I’m just enjoying being back in the team here, getting a run of games and having an impact on the team.

“It’s only one goal but it’s something to build on but, more importantly, it was good to get the three points and make it two wins on the bounce.

“Hopefully it’s the foundations of what’s to come next season,” he continued.

“It fills you with confidence but we feel that we should be where they are and that’s what the gaffer said to us at the start of the game.

“We proved that we were as good as them and even though we were hanging on a bit towards the end we came away with the points.”
