Magpies prepared to get physical against the Blades...
Notts County are ready for a physical battle at Bramall Lane, says first team manager Keith Curle.
Notts will face Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon in what is expected to be a closely fought contest at the top of npower League 1.
The Magpies are unbeaten in six and second in the table, whereas the Blades are sixth and undefeated in 2012.13.
County are prepared to match United on all fronts and Curle wants his team to be the first to take maximum points from Danny Wilson’s men by any means possible.
“They’re a big football club and they’ve got some good players, but I think they’ve gone a little bit more physical this year, I feel,” Curle told Magpie Player.
“They’re a little bit more confrontational and a little bit more direct in their style of play, but we need to combat that.
“If we need to go toe-to-toe, then so be it, we’ve got a gameplan of how we want to play but we won’t go on the back foot.”
He continued: “Sheffield United will not let us play, they will get in our faces and they will make it a confrontational game, which you have to deal with.
“You can’t back away from it, you can’t go on the back foot and if teams are going to bully you, you need to stand up to the bullies.”
