More to come from JCR, says Judge...

Alan Judge cannot wait to link up with Jamal Campbell-Ryce again in this weekend’s npower League 1 clash with Portsmouth.

As part of a high-octane Magpies line-up in the midweek draw with MK Dons, the duo showed that a formidable, offensive partnership could be in the making.

Campbell-Ryce’s inclusion at stadium:mk came as a big surprise, as he had only returned from a troublesome calf injury against Oldham Athletic three days prior.

Judge feels that there is more to come from the former Bristol City man and hopes that they can combine to excite the Meadow Lane crowd on Saturday afternoon.

“Jamal’s a great player and, to be fair, we’ve only seen him in training a few times since he’s been back from injury,” Judge told Magpie Player.

“I think the way that we linked up on Tuesday night showed lots of promise.

“He’s a very similar player to me and he can come in the middle and I can go out wide.

“It’s a great thing to have in the team and I’m very much looking forward to playing with him.

“You’d think he’d be taking it easy but he’s lasted 60 minutes and that’s only better for us this weekend.”

Judge is expecting a battle when Pompey come to town but has every confidence that Notts can take all three points.

“Everyone knows they’re troubled but once they stand out on the pitch they’ll be looking to enjoy the game,” he continued.

“Hopefully they won’t sit back here like some other teams have but that’ll be up to us to break them down.

“They’ve also got two of our old players and it’ll be great to play against them.”
