Youth team defeated on the road...
Notts County youth team were unfortunate to come away from Doncaster empty handed on Saturday afternoon.
Rovers went into the break a goal to the good after creating the better of the chances in a scrappy first half.
A restructure at the break led to the Magpies coming out of the traps well and they went on to dominate the majority of the second period.
Following a host of opportunities, Notts finally drew level when Brad McGowan headed home from a corner.
It was all set up for County to go on and win the match but, with 10 minutes left on the clock, a mistimed challenge handed the hosts a penalty, which was then converted to make it 2-1.
“It was almost exactly the same as what happened last year at their place,” Adams told the official site.
“It was a great second half showing, it was all us, but gifted them three points at the end.
“You can’t do that at any level of the game and we’ve got no excuses.”
The youth team are without a fixture this coming Saturday but will face Mansfield Town in Round One of the Midlands Youth Cup.
The fixture will take place at the One Call Stadium on Monday 17 September, kicking off at 2pm.
