The Magpies are not happy to settle for second best...

The Notts County squad is full of perfectionists, says skipper Neal Bishop.

Notts have got off to a flying start this term and have claimed an impressive 17 points from the opening eight matches.

Despite this leaving the Magpies second in npower League 1, the players are not satisfied.

“I don’t think you can ever be happy, individually or as a team,” said Bishop.

“You can acknowledge that we’re doing stuff well when we’re winning but you can’t allow yourselves to get into that comfort zone.

“That’s drilled into us by the manager and all of his staff, and it’s something we’re all buying into.

“The minute that you start relaxing, you stand still and I think if you stand still you go backwards.

“We’re constantly striving to improve, not only as individuals but as a team.

“If we can do that for the next eight months, we should be somewhere there or thereabouts.”

Notts take on Sheffield United this weekend at Bramall Lane. For full ticket information, click here.
