With the first team away at Carlisle United this Saturday, those not making the trip have a fantastic opportunity to watch the youth team in action.
The young Magpies face Hartlepool United at the Highfields training facility, with the match kicking off at 12pm.
Youth team coach Brett Adams is eager for supporters to get behind the under-18s as they attempt to gain their first three points of the 2012.13 campaign.
He told Magpie Player: “If fans aren’t busy and are looking for something to do, the youth team will be more than happy for them to come down and support us.
“It gives fans a chance to see what we’re trying to do and how we’re trying to play.
“There’s one or two lads in the system now that, given a couple of years, you never know, they might be heading towards that first team.
“It’ll be good to have that support behind us.”
