New Recruit Has Faith

Defender confident that Notts can bounce back this weekend...

Jordan Stewart has seen already to know that the Magpies will get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Stewart agreed a short-term deal with the club ahead of Saturday’s npower League 1 clash with division leaders Tranmere Rovers.

Notts were defeated 1-0 on the day, a result that followed on from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of second-placed Stevenage.

Stewart, who has spent most of his career playing in the top two tiers of English football, has witnessed plenty of quality within the squad.

He has no doubt that County have what it takes to gain a positive result on Saturday against Carlisle United that would lift them back into the Play-Off places.

“It’s a great club with lots of good players and I’ve seen that everyone wants the ball,” he told Magpie Player.

“They want to pass the ball and even in the Championship some teams are more direct but I think it will stand us in good stead.

“Hopefully we can bounce back and I don’t see no reason why the team can’t get promoted this year.

“Sometimes defeats like this is when you learn the most about your team and about the players around you.

“We need to go into this weekend’s game and try to correct the mistakes we’ve made.

“Hopefully we can progress and win more games.”
