County ready for stern test at the Ricoh...
Notts County will need to be at their best if they are to claim three points at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, says Keith Curle.
Notts face Coventry City with the hope of making it back-to-back wins in the league, following the 4-0 triumph over Carlisle United.
The Magpies have the best record in the division against teams in the bottom half of the npower League 1 table.
However, 20th placed City have made up for a poor start to the season, following the arrival of Mark Robins as their new manager.
The Sky Blues are unbeaten in five and have won three of those games.
“A lot of people will have expected Coventry, because of where they were last year, to be around the top eight or 10,” said Curle in his pre-match press conference, which can be viewed on Magpie Player.
"They've got a new manager - I think they call it 'new manager syndrome', when a new manager comes in and makes an immediate impact.
"I know Mark from his playing days and his early managerial days, he made a brave decision to walk away from Barnsley for his own reasons.
"He's been given another opportunity with Coventry and he's doing exceptionally well.
“I think that if he is able to manage the way that he wants to manage, they can be a force to be reckoned with.
“What he’s doing at the minute, he’s gone in an moulded the group of players available to him and turned them into a team.
"From the team selections and scouting reports that we've got, we know exactly what we're going to face and we've got to be on our game.”
He added: "If you look at how we started at Carlisle, they will be mindful of that, it might be that they pay attention to us.
“We've got an opportunity to put things right on Saturday against Coventry [after the midweek defeat to Sheffield United in the JPT].”
