JCR: Bring On Rovers

4 October 2012

Midweek goal-scorer not intimidated by undefeated Rovers…

Notts County have got what it takes to topple Tranmere Rovers, says Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

This weekend, Keith Curle’s side take on the npower League 1 leaders at Meadow Lane and initial ticket sales suggest that a bumper crowd will be in attendance.

Notts are currently fourth in the table and a victory can move them within three points of Ronnie Moore’s men, who are yet to be defeated this term.

Campbell-Ryce explained that the Magpies are eager to make amends for Tuesday night’s defeat to Stevenage and cannot wait for kick-off.

The winger told Magpie Player: “It’s a test of character of how you bounce back and it’s a perfect game against a side at the top of the league at the moment.

“It’s a big game, first against fourth, and, like Stevenage, who are up there as well, they know we’re a footballing side.

“I think they’ll try to frustrate us and his us on the counter, like Stevenage, but if they do come at us, we’ve just got to show them what we can do.

“We’re a footballing side and we play football and create goals, and every game’s big and we’ve got to try and get three points.

“I don’t think there’s anything to be scared of, because we’ve got a lot of ability in our squad.”
