Italian Magpies Feature In #themag

26 October 2012

A group of Notts fans jetted to Turin last weekend to meet the Italian Magpies...

Whilst the black and white army travelled to Coventry earlier this month, six Magpies flew over to Turin to meet our friends the Italian Magpies and watch Juventus play Napoli.

The connection between the two clubs has been restored following on from John Savage’s kind act way back in 1903.

Since then Italians have come over to watch Notts against Colchester and the group made the return trip last weekend. The Italian Magpies even made a special #theitalianmag to help the Notts fans find out more about the beautiful city.

Juve fan Giorgio Zunino told this Saturday’s #themag: “The friendship between Notts and Juve fans continues to grow. On the 20th of October another chapter was added to this beautiful story.

“Juve supporters were very excited to meet our brothers in football. Andy, Lisa, Paul, Pete, Josh and Lindy were welcomed as stars and had plenty of photos with their flags and scarves.

“We’ve planned a meeting in front of the Juventus Museum and the Juve supporters came as wave, as an army, of course black and white army!

“It was absolutely terrific to see how the people around the Magpies were happy and curious: walking around the Stadium we could hear people talking about our group. We knew that we had to meet all the guys who came in Nottingham last May, but more and more came to meet us!"

You can find out more about the Italian Magpies by visiting their Facebook Page or follow them on Twitter.

Read the full feature in #themag on Saturday as the Magpies face Doncaster Rovers at Meadow Lane. The matchbook is priced at £3.
