Defender Aims For Wembley

16 October 2012

Full-back talks Wednesday night’s game in the club’s official matchbook, The Mag…

The Magpies cannot help but get excited by the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy this year, says defender Carl Regan.

Notts will face Sheffield United in Round Two of the tournament on Wednesday night at Meadow Lane.

Regan netted County’s winning goal in a Round One triumph over Scunthorpe United and he is hoping to move one step closer to Wembley with another tournament victory against the Blades.

"In the last round, the goal was a rare one but it was good to get it," he recalled in an interview with The Mag.

"The JPT gives us a route to play at Wembley and everyone aspires to play at Wembley at some point in their career, so it's important to us.

"It's a competition that we want to win, it's important to us and we'll go out there looking to win the game.

“Every game, no matter if it's the JPT or whatever competition it is, you want to go out and win the game.

“With the win on Saturday it will be nice to get another positive result to give us some momentum going into Saturday.”
