Deano: We’re Ready For This

23 October 2012

Time for County to step up their form at home, says defender...

Dean Leacock feels that the Magpies are ready to turn their home form around.

Notts are in fine form on the road, having stretched a record unbeaten run to 14 games with triumphs over Carlisle United and Coventry City.

In contrast, the Magpies have lost their last three at Meadow Lane, though none of the players are concerned about appearing in front of their own fans.

Leacock explained that confidence is high in the camp, as a result of a promising opening to the campaign, which sees Notts only two points outside the automatic promotion places.

“We’ve got to take a lot of positives from how we’ve been playing so far,” he told Magpie Player ahead of tonight’s clash with AFC Bournemouth.

“We’re only six points off the top and we’re playing football, which is what we want to do for the fans.

“When you’re at home, you’ve got to be on the front foot so I think that plays into our hands when we play away, there’s more gaps and we’ve got a nice strike force that can expose defences.

“At home, teams are coming here and sitting back so it’s harder to find those holes for players like Judgey, Jamal, Jeff, Bish and all them players.

“We’ve been working on a few things in the last couple of weeks because of the home defeats and I do think it’s a matter of time before it turns.

“I think we’re ready for this now, because we’ve been through a few things over the last couple of weeks.

“I think we’re going to try to put on a show for ourselves and the fans.”
