Don't miss out on our exclusive interview with Dean Leacock in the #themag...
Dean Leacock was targeted a place on the Magpies’ increasing list of goal-scorers.
13 different players have registered for Notts this term to help the team become npower League 1’s second highest goal-scorers behind league leaders Tranmere Rovers.
The defender, 28, has never been a regular on the scoresheet, having scored two career goals, but he is determined to change that with the Magpies.
“We’ve got players in this team with great deliveries from set-pieces and sometimes you’ve got to be a bit more aggressive in the attacking half,” he told the club’s official matchbook.
“I’ve never really been an aggressive player and maybe that’s why I’ve not really scored that many goals.
“Hopefully I can inject a little bit more aggressiveness into my game and get on the end of a few more crosses.”
He continued: “It’s good that everyone’s scoring and I think there’s only a few that haven’t this season.
“We’ve got players in all areas that I think can get goals and it’s helping so far.
“I’ve had chances but they’ve just never come off and it’s something that I really want to do – I want to score a few more goals.
“Hopefully that will add to something but I’m more happy defending and keeping clean sheets.
“I’ll let the strikers do what they’ve got to do.”
Leacock speaks about how far he thinks the Magpies can go this season and beyond, his experiences of top flight football and the importance of family in football in this weekend’s edition of #themag.
