Curle: Perfect Timing

Manager looking for a response against league leaders...

Notts County could not be facing Tranmere Rovers at a better time, according to Keith Curle.

The Magpies head into the fixture determined to make amends for the loss to Stevenage on Tuesday night.

Unbeaten Rovers currently reside at the top of npower League 1 but Notts have every belief that they can become the first team to take maximum points from Ronnie Moore’s side.

“It’s the best fixture you could wish for after a disappointing home fixture,” said Curle.

“You want a game to go into whereby the expectations will still be there but it’s an easy game to get everyone up for.

“Why? Because you’re playing a team that are at the top of the league.

“In our own mind, with the points that we should have accumulated, we feel as though we should be top of the league.”

He continued: “They’re playing with a lot of confidence and they’re a vibrant team, they play with belief and they’re enjoying themselves.

“It’s not too dissimilar to ourselves as well, yes we’ve had a hiccup in midweek but we will bounce back from that.”
